Terms and Conditions

  1. KEY DATES
  • Art in Tune runs from 7:00pm Friday 17 March 2017 to Sunday 19 March 2017
  • Entries open on Friday 16 December 2016.
  • Entries close Tuesday 21 February 2017.
  • Successful entries will be notified on or before Wednesday 01 March 2017.
  • Delivery of art works will be accepted on Thursday 16 March 2017 from 10:00am through to 7:00pm at the Old Brighton Town Hall, Wilson Street, Brighton.
  • Collection of sold and unsold works will be at the Old Brighton Town Hall from 6.00pm Sunday 19 March, or alternatively on Monday 20 March between 9 am - 12 noon.
  • The 'Best in Show' Award will be judged by an external judge once successful entries are hung and will be announced at the Preview Cocktail Party on Friday 17 March.  A cash prize of $2,500 sponsored by Saunders Waterford will be awarded to the winner.
  • The People’s Choice Award will be announced at 3pm on Sunday 19 March. The prize of a $400 voucher will be presented by Cath Stocks of Framing to a T, 143 Church St, Brighton.
  1. HOW TO ENTER
  • Artists must register with www.gallery247.com.au for their art works to be considered.
  • Entry fee $5 for each exhibit entered. Artists may enter up to 5 works. Not all entries will be selected for display and a maximum of 3 may be hung. No refund is offered to those not selected.
  • The order and placement within the exhibition is at the discretion of Rotary and its advisers.
  • Entries accepted for display will incur a fee of $15 for artworks up to 60cm x 80cm (4800sqcm), or $25 for larger works up to 120cm x 80cm (9600sqcm).
  • All works must be for sale. Brighton North Rotary takes a 25% commission on all sales.
  • Entries may be reproduced in newspapers, magazines, electronically or otherwise used for promotional purposes.
  1. PREPARING THE WORK FOR DELIVERY
  • Artwork MUST be either a stretched canvas or suitably framed for hanging with screw eyes and picture wire.
  • Title, Medium, Price inclusive of commission, and Orientation with Artist’s Name and Address must be attached to the back of each work.
  • Works must be no larger than 120cm x 80cm including frame.
  • Artwork must not be wet.
  • Entries must be delivered free of all charges. No payments whatsoever will be made by Rotary for freight, or other charges incurred for delivery or return.
  • Brighton North Rotary will exercise all reasonable care in handling the entries submitted, but will not be responsible for the loss of, or damage to any entries however caused, while in the custody of the Club, its’ agents or being sent to or from the event.
  • Artists are responsible for insuring their works against loss or damage.
  1. COLLECTING ARTWORK
  • The artist or purchaser is responsible for the collection of their work from 6:00pm Sunday March 19, OR between 9 am and 12pm on Monday 20 March.
  • Brighton North Rotary will NOT pay for any costs incurred for the collection of any entry.
  • Exhibitors whose work bears a ‘red sticker’ should check at the sales desk that the work has in fact been sold. No responsibility can be accepted in respect of red stickers affixed in error.
  • Works cannot be stored and will therefore be disposed of within a week unless otherwise organised in advance of the collection date.
  1. OTHER
  • In the event of a dispute arising regarding the interpretation of these conditions, the decision of the Art in Tune Committee of Brighton North Rotary shall be final and binding on all parties.
  • Please note that Art in Tune and Brighton North Rotary are not registered for GST. Artists may be required to supply a tax invoice on request.
